Lucid’s Game Series: “Control”

I’ve just started working on a new series devoted to the art of lucid dreaming, titled- “The Lucid’s Game Series”

The following painting is touches upon the final level of lucid dreaming, I title it- “Control”

It measures 11×14″ and it’s oil on canvas… so far I’m mid-way through, the first layer of color.

The Art of Mindless Travelling

I’m very excited to be working on this new piece, titled- “The Art of Mindless Traveling”.

It is nothingness and the pure bliss of awakening from this.

This is the final composition sketch I decided upon:

I will be running with colors similar to these:

Color Study

First time ever, I’ll be constructing a custom frame for one of my pieces. This one will have a vertical molded Zen garden (with sand and small black stones) in the offset area between the two floating frames, bordering the piece.  The painting will be 28×22″ and the frame will measure 38×32″-

Hope you guys love it so far. Very excited to work on this!!!

WIP “Food of Gods”

This piece was inspired by the late Terrence McKenna, a great psychonaut and free-thinker.  See you in the next Dimension, my friend!

WIP “Finding a Missing Memory”

I’m really excited about this new piece that I’m working on.  Again, something new- skipped the grisaille underpainting and painted directly over the burnt umber layer using a “closed” palette.  I’ve never relied too heavily on a premixed palette but I’m sold on it now.  I used a bit of a modified Munsell setup, lots of premixed strings with strings of grey to control the intensity of the colors.

This is the first layer of color.

Next I’ll lay in another layer of color to smooth everything out and adjust textures.  After that I’ll focus on highlight scrumbles.

Hope you guys love it as much as I’m excited with it….

WIP “A New Way of Thinking”

This is the first layer of color on my newest piece… next will be scrumbles of light and texture….

Work in Progress- A New Way of Thinking

WIP- “A New Way of Thinking” Grisaille

Here is the next layer of “A New Way of Thinking”. This is the grisaille layer, in which I’ll lay in translucent and semi-opaque COLOR layers over. I’m trying something new this time by painting the grisaille underpainting the same color as the planned background… hoping this will help with the half-tones and shadows.

A New Way of Thinking

WIP- “A New Way of Thinking”

Here is my latest piece in progress- “A New Way of Thinking”.  A lot of problems in this world would be eliminated if we all just opened up our minds a bit more.  Thinking is Divinity.

This is a raw umber underlayer on ochre/burnt sienna/ultramarine ground….

1st Underlayer of "A New Way of Thinking"

I’ll be applying a tonal layer of whites and green-blacks, known as verdaccio, over this.  Once dry, then the verdaccio underlayer will support the warm translucent color glazes that I apply over it.
